For the expansion of our ConfoBody™ Discovery team in Brussels we are recruiting a (m/f):
(Senior) Research Associate ConfoBody™ Discovery.
You will assist in the development of innovative ConfoBody™ discovery platforms and apply the novel ConfoBody™ discovery techniques across target programs.
You will clone membrane protein plasmid constructs to over express these in insect and mammalian cells using a variety of transfection and infection methods.
You will assess expression levels and specific activity of the recombinant protein in membrane and in solubilized form using binding assays (radioligand or FACS).
You will clone VHH antibody repertoires, execute antibody selections and characterize antibodies using a broad span of biochemical and cell based assays to assess their conformation sensitivity.
You communicate experimental progress to the project team(s).
Bench oriented Bachelor or Master in life sciences or equivalent preferentially trained in an industry environment.
Minimally 1 year hands on expertise in cell culturing and transfection techniques (recombinant cell line generation by viral transduction of eukaryotic cells is preferred). Excellent skills in fluorescence activated cell analysis or sorting and other cell sorting methods is an asset.
Trained in molecular biology with hands on knowledge of state-of-the-art cloning techniques, single cell RNA extraction and RT PCR.
Experience with antibody discovery from combinatorial libraries via antibody display methodologies is recommended.
Scientific integrity, solid analytical and problem solving skills.
